About This Project

Documentation of the restoration of Placing the Bust of Michelangelo on his Tomb Monument in Santa Croce (1618–1620) by Tiberio Titi at Casa Buonarroti in Florence.

Through photography and film, the project explores the atmosphere and precision behind the conservation process, revealing gestures, materials, surface details and the return of light and colour to the historic painting.

The restoration was carried out by conservator Elizabeth Wicks, with the support of Friends of Florence and Donna Malin.
