This video documents the exhibition ESSENTIA at Palazzo dei Priori in Volterra, curated by KALPA Galleries and organized in collaboration with Associazione Anima Silvae and the Comune di Volterra. The project explores dialogues between Etruscan culture and contemporary art.
At the centre of the exhibition is the wood sculpture of contemporary British artist Eleanor Lakelin, presented in Italy for the first time, alongside a unique selection of archaeological finds from the Guarnacci Etruscan Museum. Together, these works investigate the essence of matter and its infinite transformations.
Open from July to September 2024, ESSENTIA is organised by KALPA Art Living, Anima Silvae, and the Guarnacci Museum, curated by Eleonora Raspi with scientific curatorship by Fabrizio Burchianti.
The exhibition is supported by Altair Chimica, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra, MATTEOBRIONI srl., Unicoop Firenze, and proudly endorsed by Comune di Volterra and Regione Toscana.
